Batch Like a Productive + Profitable Girl Boss

Learn how to batch your content for your business like a productive girl boss.

Content creation usually isn't the favorite part of any content creators business. Like much of life...there's so many moving parts.

When you see a beautifully written blog article, you rarely think about how long it took for that article to be produced.

Rarely as in NEVER!

However when you are the creator, you might think what in the hell am I going to produce. An easy way to rid yourself of those thoughts: create an editorial calendar.

What's that?!?

A fancy or not so fancy plan for your upcoming content.

An easy way to develop an editorial calendar is to think of 3 categories that you address in your services and(or) products. You want these to be general categories because you'll get specific as you move on.

For example:  Productivity, business tips and systems.

Then brainstorm topics underneath each. Assign a date and how you'll distribute this content. Boom!

There's some marketers that will tell you blogging is dead.

Content is king and you're the queen.

You need each other.

Content creation goes so much deeper than blogging. Whatever your poison [blogging, video, podcast, etc], make sure you have a beautiful castle for this content king to reside [your website].

So we've established that you're the queen! But to become a true boss, you'll need to batch!

Learn how to batch your content for your business like a girl boss for increased productivity.

Batching is what makes producing content manageable and easy.

Batching is when you do a lot of one thing for a set period of time.

Let's say you set a schedule where you blog weekly.

That's 4 blog posts a month. I know my math skills are remarkable...stay with me.

Did you know it's easier to push out all four articles than each one individually?

Yep. Science and psychology back me up on this.

Switching tasks or multitasking reduces your productivity by 40%.

When multitasking, we typically switch tasks every 3 minutes and 5 seconds.

When work is interrupted it takes an average of 23 minutes and 15 seconds to get back on task.

Batching decreases the time lost between switching tasks.

Ultimately batching allows you to increase concentration and decrease distraction.

Cookies are made in batches because it's easier and it saves time. Besides who eats just one cookie?

via

Batching your content is the same. Well, it might not be as sweet and gratifying instantly like a cookie, but it saves time with your processes.

Here are some things in your business and life that you can start batching this week:

Email: set up a time and system so you can check your emails and respond to them within an hour or two [an hour would be awesome]. Tim Ferris says he checks his once a day and responds all at once. Such will power that guy has. I’m on a twice a day schedule, that works pretty well.

Phone calls: have a running list of who you need to call on a sheet/in notebook on your desk. Set aside a day or two throughout the week and a time for you to make/return all the calls.

Content creation: Pick one day a month and block off 4 [or more] hours of your most productive time to create content.  Add additional days if you have multiple streams of content to create.

Editing content: Pick one day a month/week and block off a set amount of time during your most alert time of day to edit your amazing content.

Curating content for social media shares: Once a week pick a light day to peruse your favorite websites for content to share with your peeps. Doing this on one day at one time, saves oh so much time. Versus taking a few minutes here and there, because the whole act of switching is time consuming. Once complete, schedule your social media for the week.

Client work or projects: complete client work or similar projects all at once until complete. So when you’re done...you’re done. No need to keep your mind boggled down with uncompleted work.

Expenses: weekly or monthly set aside time to review your personal and business expenses. Have a plan on what you’re documenting and reviewing. What actions need to be taken as well as what milestones/rewards you should set for meeting your expense goals each month.

Productivity to profits is the goal around here.

Cooking: schedule in time to plan what you’ll eat for the week, even the days and nights you plan to eat out. On Sundays, set aside time to meal prep and have a cooking party preparing for the week.

Cleaning: schedule in time to tidy up. Cluttered spaces really deter productivity and creativity.

Planning: each week you should have time scheduled in to plan for your next week. Include time to brain dump and sort out new ideas.

Often times people think that when you plan and essentially control your time, that it stifles creativity. Batching is quite the opposite. You are ensuring that you set aside time to go deep within your creative space without being interrupted and produce a greater value of work

Batching provides you with freedom to have fun or take a nap when all the work is complete. What more could a girlboss ask for?

Steal Like An Artist Business Strategy Using Evernote

Learn how to steal like an artist to up-level your business with Evernote.

A year ago I read “Steal Like An Artist: and ,” by Austin Kleon. It was a quick read, I remember reading it in two trips to the pool with the babes.

via

Truly gem after gem of awesome actionable business advice.

He even quotes the Bible:

That which has been is what will be, That which is done is what will be done, And there is nothing new under the sun.
— Ecclesiastes 1:9

All to say: NOTHING IS ORIGINAL.

Now this is not a book review, although I would highly recommend you do check the book out. However, the takeaway I want you to get in one sentence + a glimpse at the image above : curate and steal from artists [we’re all artists + it’s all art] in order to up-level your business and set you apart from the rest.

The irony, eh? Steal to be different. Yup...that's the theory.

Steal like an artist business strategy using Evernote

Be inspired and take action in the inspiration. No one is telling you to copy + paste. You may need to go read the book, if that is what you’re thinking.

No secret, but I adore my sissy pooh Beyonce. I am obsessed with her marketing and her interaction [or lack thereof] + marketing. No I won’t be dropping a surprise launch at midnight and announcing it on twitter. But just in case I change my mind, go follow me on twitter, I would hate for you to miss out on the in real time scoop. Anywho, I am a pop culture junkie and I study pop culture's strategies, marketing and "launches." I take the parts that I like and remix it to fit my style and business.

Say what?

Meanwhile on the lovely internets where online biz peeps and bloggers hang out, I see two methodologies [maybe four tops] being played out. It looks a little like this:

1. Work with said coach [or stalk ALLLL their free content]

2. Begin using language of said coach or blogger.

3. Business model is modeled after said person. [Carbon Copy]

4. Crickets to their offer that looks like the 545,678,787 *insert more numbers + commas as you see fit* other people hitting copy +paste of said coach.

What they need to do is hit CTRL + ALT + DELETE or COMMAND + ALT+ ESC for my mac peeps.

It's time for a reboot and a strategy to steal like an artist.

Remember, nothing is original. So the idea has been cycled over and over, before you even were exposed to it. And my friend, you are too amazing to just be spitting out sloppy seconds [ or even worse...remember that huge # we couldn’t agree on earlier].

Would you eat a piece of gum that has been chewed by just four people before you get your turn?

I'm grossed out just thinking about it. Imitation and straight up stealing other's intellectual property and website design is the same thing.

You look lame.

Your work doesn't seem as credible.

Oh and very importantly...please note you can be sued.

Good artists copy, GREAT artists steal
— Picasso

To be great and to steal like an artist, you take the element and embrace it with everything that embodies YOU.

So all of your life experiences, the way you think, the things you like, the things you love...everything that embodies you.

Apple was not the first company to come up with the concept of a computer tablet. Toshiba was. Apple took the concept and built upon it and created the game changing iPad.

Start copying what you love. Copy copy copy copy. At the end of the copy you will find your self.
— Designer Yohji Yamamoto

In order to keep up with all this stealing, I use Evernote. In Evernote, I created a stack SLAA [I pronounce it slay! as in yass girl yass slay that into something amazing!]

A stack in Evernote is basically a file folder to group together your notebooks to keep things organized.

SLAA Notebooks I have:

  1. Copy Swipe
  2. Email Copy Swipe
  3. Facebook Ad Copy SLAA [SLAA is behind this as I have another folder specifically for my facebook ad’s copy]
  4. Launch Swipe
  5. Opt-In Swipe
  6. Sales Page Swipe
  7. Set Up
  8. Welcome Emails
Steal Like An Artist Business Strategy Using Evernote

Copy Swipe - If I’m on a website and see copy that just stops me in my tracks. Like wow, did you just seduce me with words.  I clip it into this folder, so I can evaluate why was it compelling + what made it stand out.

Email Copy Swipe - I receive an email, that I actually read all the way through. High five for keeping my attention and passing the scan test + making me go back to the top to read in detail. These get forwarded to evernote by my email.

Facebook Ad Copy SLAA [SLAA is behind this as I have another folder specifically for my Facebook ad’s copy] - I have ad blocker  on my computer, so I rarely see ads. However, if I’m on facebook on my phone and see an ad that made me stop and look...I’ll take a screenshot and add it to this folder by creating a note or adding it to an existing note.

Launch Swipe - You know how you see something really cool, but forget about it when you want to tell someone else about it? Yeah. This folder exists for that very reason. Whenever I see amazing launches going on and I receive emails or see website pages that absolutely rock my world; I clip, screenshot or email them to this folder.

Opt-In Swipe - same premise here as the other folders. If I receive a really amazing opt-in, I forward that baby right here.

Sales Page Swipe - My sales pages are pretty awesome, if I do say so myself. However, I love the dynamics + psychology behind sales pages. You know the nerdy not so cool reasons of why do people buy. So when I see a unique page that doesn’t look like the million others BUY NOW, I save it in this here folder.

Set Up - there’s absolutely nothing in this folder. nada. zilch. I’m sure one day I’ll remember why I created this folder and then I’ll probably use it. [Sorry about this]

Welcome Emails - you guessed it...if I receive an amazing welcome email, it goes in here for me to analyze at a later date.

The truth of the matter is, I don’t clip or email or even screenshot weekly, but when I do see something striking, I send it to SLAA. When I’m uninspired or knew I had a good idea, but couldn’t quite remember what that idea was, I take a look at my SLAA folders.

An excerpt from Steal Like An Artist

Don’t just steal the style, steal the thinking behind the style. You don’t want to look like your heroes, you want to see like your heroes. The reason to copy your heroes and their style is so that you might somehow get a glimpse into their minds. That’s what you really want — to internalize their way of looking at the world. If you just mimic the surface of somebody’s work without understanding where they are coming from, your work will never be anything more than a knockoff.

Never do I copy + paste, but I find a way to remix the element or elements so it is my own. I evaluate what made me notice it, so I can create something that would make you stop and notice.

It’s so easy to scroll past the same meme and image because we have been exposed to it over and over and over again. Our mind doesn’t even register it anymore.

So the first time you saw it, that person did their job in grabbing your attention.

And since nothing is original, it’s your job to create strategies and systems to help you to keep your lady focused. How do you steal like an artist?

Let's be honest. Let's be real.

Can I get real with you for a minute? Like really real? Biz bestie and favorite psychologist real?Okay, cool. Because there are some conversations that we just need to have.

Everyone talks about purpose & authenticity right? *sigh* Click through to read how you can get very real in your business. It's the realest system, strategy, you will ever read. | Entrepreneur | Girl Boss

Can I get real with you for a minute?

Like really real? Biz bestie and favorite psychologist real?

Okay, cool.

I lost a friend last week to suicide and it really messed with my mind for a few days. And once I processed through that, [because that's what psychologists do...we counsel  ourselves & process the BS] I reflected on my purpose and true authenticity.

Everyone talks about purpose and authenticity right? *sigh*

There’s so much nonsense aka bullshit aka shenanigans out here on the internets teaching you to be you & teaching you to be happy & teaching you to be rich.

No one can teach you to be you.

No one can make you happy.

No set amount of money can make you happy.

Want to be rich? Find a problem, solve it and work hard. Treat your consumers better than gold.

Figure out if 6 figures is even what you want to make. What does that look like in your amazing chic life. I work with women crushing the mid to high 5 figures and they are living grand...on their terms. Just as I work with 6 figure women who are miserable with their biz structure and the "hassle" of their internet fame and others that are living grand.

Let's move on though...

I’ve always been a rebel & for majority of my life, I was a rebel without a cause. I prefer the term maverick, but a rebel nonetheless. I do things my way. I know what works for  me and my brands. I know these things because I’m very connected to my purpose. I do what I want.

I employ you to take on & embrace these traits. Being true to you will always make you happy. ALWAYS. No debates here lady.

Doing things that don’t make you feel good inside? STOP!

Doing things because all the other coaches are doing it? STOP!

Unless it’s really something you like to do.

The first system any small business or individual has is themselves.

And not in the sense that you should not connect or collaborate with others. But, in the sense of simple psychology to being an awesome individual. Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs addresses that we need to master several areas/needs before we actually get our lives right & can truly help others.

via

This is the true case of 'started from the bottom, now we’re here'. Am I saying you need to be perfect?  Chile please! What I’m saying is you should work towards being as happy and healthy as you know is possible for you. Not anyone else's interpretation of happy or success, but your own. Then it will feel all perfect and sparkly, or like a hot shot of gin if that’s your thing.

Life happens to us all. There’s no avoiding it. Only thing you can do is to ensure that you are constantly depositing into yourself. Then we add the roller coaster of small business and it’s ups and downs. Again, you are front and center.

Protect yourself before you wreck yourself.

A personal fulfillment system which I love to call Chic Systems, is your protection.

A personal fulfillment system should include:

  1. Clear and defined dreams & goals
  2. Hobbies that you enjoy at least monthly
  3. Supportive professional network (biz bestie, mastermind, etc.)
  4. Supportive personal network (friends & family)
  5. Weekly self-care

You should be very clear on your dreams and goals. You should have hobbies. Your business will be a big portion of your life, but you should still have other interests that drive you.  You have to know what you want and what you don’t want in your life. What you like and what you don’t. What makes you so uncomfortable that you’ll throw up? (Those things will push you towards growth.)

We graduated from preschool years ago. Pretending is no longer mandatory. It’s time for you to do what makes your soul breakdance.

Do you hate blogging? Suck it up! Lol, I kid, I kid. Find another medium -podcast (audio) or video to reach your people. However, get these transcribed on Fiverr so you can post it on your website as a blog post and still be searchable by google.

This expert says do this, so you do it.

This expert says do that, and despite you not wanting to, you do that too.

Make 6 figures and do this this & this, and of course you do this...this…& this.

We go into business to change the world and our own lives. Often times we lose a sense of self and get lost. Even Siri can’t help you where to go. We can learn from others always, even if its what not to do. Many times the information given, is what has worked for that individual based off where they were in business and in life. That information may not work for you. Generalized information available to everyone, may not be for you in all instances. However, you will not be able to fully grasp this, until you are clear on your goals & centered with yourself.

Chic tips to mastery:

  • Listen to those that resonate with your core beliefs.
  • Request a discovery session with a coach to see if that person and you mesh. {Beware of frauds}
  • Try new things.
  • Be yourself.
  • Incorporate what you love into your business.
  • Have fun!
  • Evaluate often. Make changes. Evaluate again. Keep it up or make some more changes.
  • Change is amazing...embrace that mofo head on!
  • Support others genuinely.

xoxo,

Kimber

Your biz bestie

Every Chic Solopreneur Needs A Pair of SPANX

Every female entrepreneur needs a pair of SPANX-they are an everyday solution.

solopreneur-spanx.png

You bought this amazing dress in your size. The lighting in the dressing room gave you an extra oomph, but you knew you looked good in the dress. Fast forward to date night, you pull the dress out the closet and try it on before you get all dolled up.

Something is missing.

You grab your spanx and squeeze in because who doesn't squeeze in?!? [Don't answer this...our friendship relies on you not answering this! ]

via

Gym or no gym...spanx can accentuate things for the best of us.

Spanx aren't like your grandmother's girdle. These things are sexy and undetectable. Sexay!

Systems work just like spanx. Oh, you knew the Segway was coming.

Systems have the power to transform and accentuate any business. There are people running businesses without systems.

But why work harder if you don't have to? Why add unnecessary stress and headaches?

tina-fey.gif

Anything you do over and over needs a process and system in place.

Just like with our bodies, we know our best biz features and the things that need a little extra attention. Systematize first what needs extra attention.

If you KNOW follow up is not something you are good at, you need a client management system first.

If you KNOW that you hate marketing, you need to set up a money generating system first. Because you also know you cannot sell a secret.

3 Chic Takeaways:

1. Spanx are not your granny's girdle, but rather an amazing accessory that accentuates all the glory of your body.

2. Systems accentuate the growth in your business.

3. Systems are not a quick fix. They take time to develop and implement, but once they're done, they are done.

You can keep your systems on day and night, ehhhh spanx not so much.

Are you ready to try on a little black dress biz edition for size? Get your business systems customized and streamlined .

Mo' Systems Mo' Money: April Income Report

Systems and processes have made my life run smooth with rich experiences. Sharing my income report from April.

mo-systems-mo-money.png

When it comes to business systems, there's three groups of people:

1.  What the hell are systems?

2. I'm making money, why should I care?

3. Systems are the holy grail!

You already know I roll with the third group. Systems and processes have made my life run smooth with rich experiences.  Truly the good life from all aspects.

mini-glitter.png

Quick breakdown of my life: mama to three dreamchasers whose social calendar and sports events puts any A-list celebrity to shame. Wife to Huni who needs 6 clean eating meals a day. CEO and Founder of Kimber & Co. LLC , a hybrid business with coaching components online and consulting offline.  Founder of Divas, Inc. nonprofit organization for girls and women.

mini-glitter.png

You’re probably thinking, "girl, when do you sleep?" 8 hours minimum each night and naps when I can fit them in.

Despite all the hats I wear, I've mastered  “having it together.” No missed appointments, no more forgetting to pick up a kid (am I the only one? sheesh), standing date night with Huni, quality relationships with my family and friends, great self care and thriving businesses.

With systems you have the time to do everything you want. So forget those that tell you, you can't be multi passionate and those that tell you to follow their blueprint. Your plan can be pink or neon orange just have a plan that feels good to you and is yielding positive results.

More time and more money, what more could a girl ask for? (Tweet able)

Here’s my April 2015 income and expenses. My businesses are streamlined and automated. This report is based on two full weeks of work. One week, I had surgery and was recovering. And another week, was a “I just need to rest my mind,” week.

*The income report will not include income from Divas, Inc. Nonprofits are an entirely different beast. The following is reported based on accrual accounting, income counted when the sale occurs, and expenses counted when the goods or services are received.

Yoga pants are deceitful...don't let your bottom line be too

Yoga pants and entrepreneurs become very close. The connection is almost as close as entrepreneurs and their financial systems.

yoga-pants-are-the-devil.png

Yoga pants are part of the work from home dress code. However, It's hard to notice that you've gained weight when yoga pants are your go to pants. Yoga pants are flattering and stretch like it's nobody's business. Even if you notice your yoga pants are tight when you first put them on, the power of Lycra makes you comfortable in minutes.

The reality is you know your yoga pants haven't seen the Yoga mat or the gym in a while.

 Oh no she didn't.

& did.

little-boy.gif

Typically what we focus on is what grows.

However that isn't always true with thighs or booties.  Or your business bottom line.

You know the income after all expenses (general, admin costs, interest charges, etc.)  have been deducted from your revenue (net profit).

Focus and action are two different things.

Most entrepreneurs have no idea what their bottom line looks like, nor do they have a budget, or make time in their schedule to even review the financials. It's usually a quick look in PayPal- transfer to bank account and pay who and what is needed.

Boom! Financial System

When was the last time you looked at the numbers? The real numbers, not likes or follows, but conversions and expenses. What do you need to get where you want to be? Where do you even want to be?

In the beautiful words of my brother:

Men lie, women lie, numbers don’t.
— Jay Z

You can ignore the numbers but don't be surprised when December comes and you haven't reached your money  goals. Focus on your goals, take action, then assess how the action is doing, and take action again based on the assessment.

focus +Action + Assessment + action = Success

(the one formula you need to remember)

Can you imagine getting fitted for that little black dress for a holiday occasion and you didn't account for your new bottom? Every morning you pulled out a pair of yoga pants and Lycra worked its magic. You indulged in golden oreos, because they’re vegan so you might as well have the “healthy” snacks. You skipped meals because you were so engrossed in your business and weren’t really hungry. You skipped the gym because well...you wanted to and you’re the BOSS. Days turned to weeks and weeks to months and your focus wasn’t on your bottom line it was on doing the things you love in your business and life.

Yoga pants are deceitful. *sigh*

Business is a series of moving parts. There are some parts that you will adore and can’t wait to do (the fun and creative part of your expertise), and the other parts where you ignore until it smacks you right in the face and says:

madea-meme.png

If you have a business and want to make money, you need to have a solid financial system. Spoiler alert: PayPal is not a financial system.

Financial systems include budgets, quarterly assessments, accounting program, sales funnels, and processes to manage invoices and returns.

3 chic tips to a basic financial system:

1. Write down ALL your business expenses and cancel any programs/tools that you aren't using.  Even that gym membership if you aren’t going.

2. Create a budget for your business & STICK to it!

3. Sign up for Wave Apps to monitor your money.

Question: Can't anyone do systems stuff?

The question I get day in and day out: Can't anyone do systems? Sure, it isn't rocket science. Read to find out my response.

We all have that one friend (or we’re that friend) that was in a crappy relationship and just didn’t see the crap for what it was.

via

Sometimes we are so close to something that we just can’t see or smell it for what it is. B.S.

In business it’s the same principal. You know your business inside and out.

You are the expert.

Go on with your bad self. You expert You.

via

That expertise can limit us when we don’t fully own our truths. You know...acknowledging our strengths and weaknesses.

I’m a creative that is multi-passionate whose mind processes things **wait for it** systematically.

Most creatives are not systems oriented. The word on the street is that systems are not sexy and that they are scary. I say that’s BS, but again I am a little too close to systems, so I’ll take their word that systems are scary for the average solopreneur.

That’s the thing I love about you though, you aren’t the average. You are chic and savvy. You’re ambitious. You have money to make and a world to change.

And you can’t do that by being scared.

Systems came into my life because I had so many creative ventures going on and they weren’t working together. Let me be clearer, they were working, but I was burnt out and overwhelmed which decreased my desire to continue.  I didn’t want to quit one and choose another because I knew there was a way to make my businesses work together and still maintain the life that I had created. Systems were how I pieced everything together. I didn’t even know what systems were when I started piecing them together.

I sat down and took my businesses out of my mind and wrote every aspect down. That alone was 40 pounds lifted off my shoulders. I organized what I did and what my team members did. Once, I completed this, I no longer needed to talk someone through a process because the processes were there for others to see. Booyah!

via

Once I got my businesses straight, I started teaching others how to automate their business. Person after person it was clearer and clearer that systems just aren’t something you can google.

Don't believe me?

Go ahead and google away. The hours you lose in trying to figure out what you need specifically for your business isn’t even worth the time of trying to gain time in your business. There's so much information and none of it is customized to your business.

If you took one hour each week to look at your business as an entity and not an extension of yourself, then break the processes down that your business needs. You would save yourself an enormous amount of time, energy, and money in the weeks to come.

So to answer the question: Can't anyone do systems stuff?

Answer: No you need my brain.

How about that for owning my expertise. Sounds pretty cocky, but its the truth, and we don't lie to our lady friends. I’ve mastered organizing chaos, it’s just how my brain works. If you want to waste time and money because time is money, let me know how that goes.

I've been there and done that and  was too tired to even buy the t-shirt.

However, If you want to save the time of not knowing where to even get started, let my brain do the work for you and get your biz automated. After all, I am the one girl you want all up in your business.

How do you handle all the new business? How do you have time to spend this money? How do you serve each client as if they are the most important person in your life?

Please believe that when at minimum of $10,000 a month finds its way to your PayPal, you are working hard for it.

Truly an extra two clients a month can turn your world upside down if you aren’t ready for them.

You get the first paypal notification. Happy Dance!

Second paypal notification. Oh yeah, I’m in the money!

Third paypal notification. Okay. I got this!

Fourth paypal notification. W-H-A-T I-N T-H-E W-O-R-L-D

By the sixth paypal notification that day, you’re already on your third Kombucha sipping it as if it were wine. You need the energy to ensure each client is scheduled, receives the pre-service paperwork, and all the admin work that you need to complete in order to get the client processed. Let's not talk about all the other stuff you still have to do.

The first few days of being in demand are ah-may-zing.

The second week: your days and nights are merged into one.

The third week: you’re scheduling showers in your phone so you won’t forget to get up from your computer.

The fourth week: you add a new alert- “queue dance for you by Beyonce,” because you are tired of your honey side eyeing you as he walks past your office as he heads to bed alone.

More money shouldn't mean more problems.

Potential problems that come with business growth are:

  • PayPal holding payments for an extensive length of undocumented time

  • Forgetting to complete important tasks for one of your many superstars

  • Being attached to your smartphone and computer 24-7

  • Not spending time with your family and friends

  • You're part of team #nosleep

  • Experiencing money blocks

  • New friends (trust me when I say this is a problem...hello Collabs)

  • Not having time to spend the money

  • Despite being able to afford an assistant, your chaos is to the point where an assistant cannot even begin to fathom how to do anything

  • Fraud complex comes and goes

I can go on for days with the issues that occur when your business grows. There's an easy fix- plan for the growth!

Steve Jobs created Macintosh (Apple) in a garage. That cute little phone that you scroll with would have never seen the light of day without real preparation and thinking forward.

Thinking small is more than just a money goal, begin to run your business today as if it were where you dream of it being. Walmart, McDonalds, Dell, and Apple started with one person wanting more than what they had at the moment they began. They created systems and processes to automate the things they hated doing. They hired on others who they were able to teach to recreate these same processes. However, you can’t teach what you are unaware of and afraid to address.

If you are afraid of systems and processes or the more so common “I just don’t have time” excuse, you are deciding that you are okay with not growing your business to its highest potential. Because it’s impossible to maintain more money without structure. Your business system cannot simply live in your head.

The ball is in court, are you ready to change your song to More Money, Less Problems? More money shouldn't mean more problems.

Selling Is Easy, When It's Automated

We agreed the other day that no one likes to be sold to, your customers included. You noticed that when you're really consistent on the right things, your income is just as consistent. Which of course means you are going to have to sell to your customers.

Selling is easy, when it's automated.

There's a lady out here who is perfect for your biz. Let's call her Ava. Ava could have problems figuring out her tax code. She watches your video on Youtube on how to figure that out and she's hungry for more of your brains.

She sees on your website that you have a freebie saying 'Top ten things entrepreneurs need to do for more tax breaks".

BOOM! Insta-fan (and subscriber).

But after she gets your freebie she doesn't hear from you in a while except when you send out your newest offering. By then the honeymoon love has faded and she unsubscribes/couldn't care less.

Fear not! You don't have to let that loving feeling go. Here's how you can create 1,000 raving Ava's who all have that loving feeling (without having to be there): Show Me The Money: From Reader to Buyer

Working Full-Time, Starting a Business and Partying with friends? Here's the only way to make it work

working-full-time.png

You've been bit by the entrepreneur bug. There's only one thing that's in your way...that 9-5 that pays primarily all your bills right now.

Le'sigh.

You know your purpose and are ready to fully step out on faith. Those bills are still relying on that good ole corporate check. No worries. I know exactly what you need.

Systems.

What are systems? Systems are a sexy word to describe business structure and processes. See how systems sounds much sexier?

Most of your day and time is accounted for with your corporate gig. The night hours, lunch breaks, and the weekend are all you have to make this dream work. A scheduling system is what you need first.

So let's map out a realistic schedule:

Monday - Thursday

Dedicate 8 PM - 11 PM to your business.

That means 5 PM-7:59 PM is yours.

Network, enjoy your family, workout, eat clean or take a nap [although naps after 4 pm aren't good for productivity].

I highly recommend having working lunches. So instead of spilling the latest tea with your friends at work, do these instead: catch up on your business emails, find new connections on twitter, listen to podcasts, draft a blog post, or read a book that will push you ahead.

Friday's are a free card. Make the most of it however you choose. A few suggestions: go to networking happy hours [don't drink...sip on your dream and soda], hang out with your friends and family that adore you, go do things that make your scream with excitement or party like its 1999.

If nothing is happening on Friday switch the time with Saturday or Sunday.

Saturday & Sunday

Dedicate 8 hours to your business. It doesn't have to be 8 full hours. Chunk your time if you like. Chunking is far more effective for productivity and creativity.

Chunking is merely setting aside a small "chunk" of time and using ALL that time to one task.

You can use a pomodoro app like Marinara Timer to schedule the time you want to chunk. Sometimes I'll do 15 minutes on 5 minutes off or 30 minutes on 15 minutes off.

The standard Pomodoro method is a 25 minute period of time with a break afterwards. Each break is 5 minutes long, with a 15 minute break after the completion of the fourth Pomodoro.

I love that the Marinara Timer gives you the option on how you chunk your time. After all you are the boss!

Every week you will need to compare your social schedule and your business schedule.  This way you are able to enjoy your friends and family like the social butterfly you are, and also create amazing offers, products, and services for the world to enjoy.

Google Calendar is perfect and syncs with event invites on Facebook. Sunrise is a great app that ties to Google calendar, your smart phone, Facebook, Eventbrite, and majority of the productivity apps. SCORE!

Creating a business, working full-time and enjoying your social life is possible. You don't have to choose.
